Comments from the Third-Party Evaluation Committee:
“A space where families can enjoy culture together with their children is truly valuable for those raising kids. Given that Kyoto is a major tourist destination, the facility is also useful for international visitors, providing them with a place to experience traditional Japanese games. By intentionally creating opportunities for cultural exchange between tourists and local residents, the facility can further enhance the value of the Kyoto brand.”
“Located near Kiyomizu Temple in Higashiyama—one of Kyoto’s most visited areas—the facility is easily accessible. After researching nearby diaper-changing areas and nursing rooms, it became clear that only a few major temples offer such amenities. When traveling around Kyoto with children, it can be quite inconvenient. By specifically targeting families with children, including international tourists, the facility embodies diversity and has become an essential part of modern-day Kyoto.”
I am truly grateful that AriHana Kyoto’s initiatives and my personal hopes have been recognized in this way.
Going forward, I hope to continue creating a space where inbound visitors can enjoy Japan’s traditional games, while also contributing to local revitalization and making a meaningful impact on society.
May our work bring joy to many people.
