Experience the Art of Traditional Japanese Toy Making in Kyoto!
At AriHana Kyoto, you can create your very own original Kendama (Japanese cup-and-ball toy). It’s a fun and engaging way to connect with Japanese culture. If you’re looking for something different, try Daruma Otoshi – a playful game that allows you to make your own unique version of this traditional toy. Top it off by making a spinning top (Koma), which makes for a stylish souvenir to display at home after your trip!
For younger children, we recommend making a custom Japanese fan (Uchiwa). Decorate a plain white fan with drawings, handprints, or fun stickers to create a one-of-a-kind souvenir to take home.
Creating a Kaleidoscope is another popular activity at AriHana Kyoto. It’s suitable for all ages, from young kids to adults, making it a memorable experience for the whole family.

They took on the challenge of kendama, practicing again and again, and the joy when they finally succeeded was priceless!
We also had the chance to try our hands at making traditional Japanese toys, which they found fascinating. They told us, “This is such a fun experience, even for Japanese people!” and were really happy to have tried something new.

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting two lovely sisters from Australia. The little one, who is just one year old, was full of energy and curious about everything around her, moving around and playing non-stop. Her big sister, who loves her so much, took on the challenge of folding origami for the first time and did an amazing job making a paper ninja star.
Thank you so much for spending such a fun time with us, it was a pleasure to have you all!

Family Fun at AriHana Kyoto: Shuriken Throwing, Daruma Painting & Smiles!
Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful family from England. It was heartwarming to see them all together. The 2-year-old girl was full of energy and absolutely loved the door! She peeked through it with a big smile, having so much fun playing with the owner. The 6-year-old boy was a kind older brother, enjoying shuriken throwing with his dad while looking out for his little sister. The mom had a great time painting Daruma dolls, and it made me so happy to see everyone spending such a meaningful time together.
Thank you for visiting AriHana Kyoto! 😊
