Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely family visiting from Peru. They made a reservation in advance and were really looking forward to their visit, which made us so happy.
Their 4-year-old daughter saw our tatami room and excitedly said, “This flooring is so beautiful!” — such a memorable moment for us. Not only the children, but the parents also enjoyed wearing simple kimono/yukata and spending time together doing origami and other fun activities. The 2-year-old girl loved Japanese picture books and happily read several during her visit. Her absolute favorite was the popular “Daruma-san” series, and she was delighted as she repeated “Daruma-san ga…” with a big smile.
The 5-year-old girl was very good at origami and enjoyed making beautiful creations. She also tried many traditional Japanese toys, and there was hardly enough time to experience everything! It was wonderful to see her having so much fun together with her father.
