Today, we were delighted to welcome a lovely family from California to AriHana Kyoto, our indoor cultural activity space located near Kiyomizu Temple and Sanjusangendo. With three children and their parents, they spent a fun-filled time enjoying traditional Japanese cultural experiences together.
The whole family had a blast trying out origami, kendama, and daruma otoshi — classic Japanese games that are both fun and educational. They also participated in our popular Uchiwa fan-making activity!
The two older sisters chose the Japanese calligraphy experience, writing their own names and their friends’ names in Kanji to decorate their fans beautifully. Their younger brother created a one-of-a-kind fan by drawing cool characters on both sides – a perfect souvenir from their Kyoto trip!

Yesterday, a lovely family from Germany visited AriHana Kyoto, our cozy indoor play space near Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjusangendo temples.
