🎉 AriHana Kyoto Celebrates Its 1st Anniversary! 🎉

2025.10.18
category information

We are thrilled to share that AriHana Kyoto celebrated its 1st anniversary on October 5th!

Our cultural experience space was born from a simple wish — for families visiting Japan to enjoy authentic Japanese culture together, both adults and children alike.

Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming families from all over the world. Our very first guests were a lovely couple from the United States. They casually stepped into our shop, asked, “What can we do here?”, and ended up filming themselves while playing traditional Japanese games with big smiles. We still remember their joy and laughter.

Since then, many families traveling to Kyoto with kids have visited us, and we truly feel the need for a place where children and parents can enjoy meaningful cultural experiences together.

At AriHana Kyoto, you can try traditional Japanese games, crafts, and more — making it one of the top family-friendly activities in Kyoto. Whether you’re looking for things to do in Kyoto with kids or simply want to create unique memories during your trip, we’re here to help.

Thank you for all your support this past year. We look forward to welcoming many more families to create unforgettable memories in Kyoto!

🌸 We look forward to seeing you at AriHana Kyoto! 🌸

AriHana Kyoto has been officially certified as a “Social Enterprise” under the Social Enterprise Certification System (S-Certification).

We are honored that AriHana Kyoto’s efforts to serve society and contribute to the greater good have been recognized as meaningful work that helps solve local social issues and brings positive change to the community.

Comments from the Third-Party Evaluation Committee:

  • “A space where families can enjoy culture together with their children is truly valuable for those raising kids. Given that Kyoto is a major tourist destination, the facility is also useful for international visitors, providing them with a place to experience traditional Japanese games. By intentionally creating opportunities for cultural exchange between tourists and local residents, the facility can further enhance the value of the Kyoto brand.”
  • “Located near Kiyomizu Temple in Higashiyama—one of Kyoto’s most visited areas—the facility is easily accessible. After researching nearby diaper-changing areas and nursing rooms, it became clear that only a few major temples offer such amenities. When traveling around Kyoto with children, it can be quite inconvenient. By specifically targeting families with children, including international tourists, the facility embodies diversity and has become an essential part of modern-day Kyoto.”

I am truly grateful that AriHana Kyoto’s initiatives and my personal hopes have been recognized in this way.

Going forward, I hope to continue creating a space where inbound visitors can enjoy Japan’s traditional games, while also contributing to local revitalization and making a meaningful impact on society.

May our work bring joy to many people.
