Did you know that sumo is Japan’s national sport? At AriHana Kyoto, located near Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Sanjusangendo, you can try a fun and unique version of sumo wrestling called “Kami Sumo” (paper sumo)!

Using handmade paper sumo wrestlers and a mini ring (dohyo), players tap the platform to make the wrestlers move and battle. It’s simple but exciting—perfect for both kids and adults! This activity is only available at AriHana Kyoto, and it’s one of our most popular traditional Japanese games.

AriHana Kyoto is an indoor play space where you can enjoy traditional Japanese activities like origami, paper crafts, and more.
