Yesterday, a lovely woman visiting from Chile joined us at AriHana Kyoto for an origami experience during her Kyoto sightseeing. It was her first time trying origami, but she carefully folded each piece and created many beautiful works of art. To finish, she tried kirigami (Japanese paper cutting) and made a stunning design, which she turned into a message card and kindly gave to me as a gift. It truly made my day!

The older brother had so much fun playing with a kendama (Japanese cup-and-ball toy) — after many tries, he got really good at it! His younger brother enjoyed making origami, especially a finger puppet shaped like an “oni” (Japanese ogre), and played happily. Their adorable 8-month-old baby was all smiles while being held by our friendly staff. 🧸💕
