Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming two wonderful families from New York to AriHana Kyoto, an indoor playground near Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjusangendo. The lively boys quickly became friends, even though they were meeting for the first time, and joyfully shared toys while playing together. Seeing them connect so naturally was truly heartwarming.

Meanwhile, the parents also enjoyed friendly conversations and became friends during their visit. At AriHana Kyoto, families from all over can meet and create new connections, making each visit a special opportunity for socializing.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful family visiting from Australia to AriHana Kyoto.

Their 6-year-old daughter was especially curious about traditional Japanese toys, eagerly trying out many different games and play activities. Together with her parents, she enjoyed playing kendama, daruma otoshi, fukuwarai, paper sumo, and bouzu mekuri, filling the space with laughter and smiles throughout their visit.

They also spent plenty of time enjoying origami, creating so many beautiful pieces that they were happily tired by the end—and very satisfied with their handmade creations.

We were delighted to welcome a very lovely family to AriHana Kyoto the other day.
Their 2-year-old daughter was full of curiosity, exploring the space and asking, “What’s this?” as she moved from place to place. She especially enjoyed playing with traditional Japanese toys like yo-yo and paper sumo wrestling.

Their 8-month-old baby was all smiles while listening to a picture book read by her mother, filling the room with warmth and joy. The family’s laughter created such a peaceful and heartwarming atmosphere throughout their visit.

A German Family Enjoyed a Relaxing Cultural Experience at AriHana Kyoto

Yesterday, we welcomed a wonderful family visiting from Germany. Their two-year-old son tried origami for the very first time and, together with his parents, proudly completed a cute origami cat. The family also enjoyed exploring our hiragana wooden blocks. The mother read the characters aloud with ease, creating a very warm and peaceful moment together.

The parents had great fun experimenting with traditional Japanese toys such as kendama and daruma otoshi. They tried several times, laughing as they improved with each attempt. They mentioned that “temple sightseeing in Kyoto can be difficult for young children,” and were delighted to find a place where the whole family could relax and enjoy hands-on Japanese culture.

Yesterday, we welcomed an adorable pair of sisters visiting from the United States!
They were cheerful, curious, and instantly fell in love with our Japanese toys. Their father and grandfather also enjoyed trying traditional activities such as origami and daruma otoshi, spending a relaxing and fun time together as a family.

Yesterday, we welcomed wonderful families visiting from Israel and Singapore. With a wide variety of traditional Japanese toys, children can easily discover their favorite play activities here. One family especially enjoyed the classic Japanese card game “Bōzu Mekuri,” and the room was filled with laughter. (Amy joined the fun as well!)

Their 1 year and 10-month-old little boy loved cars, and he happily took home an origami car he watched us fold.

Recently, a wonderful family from Sweden visited AriHana Kyoto, our Japanese culture experience space near Kiyomizu Temple and Sanjusangendo. Their 1-year-old boy was full of energy, happily exploring the room and playing with traditional Japanese toys. His parents enjoyed kendama, daruma otoshi, and origami, and the father even said, “This is my favorite!” while mastering the kendama. When it was time to leave, their little boy cried because he wanted to keep playing—such a heartwarming moment for us!
