This week, we were happy to welcome many families from Australia and other countries to AriHana Kyoto.
Children of various ages joined us, from 7-month-old and 9-month-old babies to a 6-year-old girl, and everyone enjoyed our activities together. Parents also joined in playing kendama, making origami, and sharing fun moments with their children.

Every family spent a lively and heartwarming time together, filled with lovely laughter and smiles.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome a lovely family visiting from Switzerland. Their 2-year-old daughter was fascinated by Japanese picture books and happily requested them again and again. She also enjoyed origami, carefully folding paper while copying Amy and proudly completing her own creation.
Her mother had fun trying traditional Japanese games like kendama and daruma otoshi, repeatedly saying “So fun!” while experiencing Japanese culture firsthand.

At AriHana Kyoto, families from all over the world visit us every day, making our space lively and full of smiles.

Origami is especially popular—many children enjoy folding dozens of pieces, and even first-time visitors love challenging themselves with more advanced designs. One 5-year-old girl, who loves Snoopy, was so happy to fold her very own Snoopy origami!

Parents also join the fun by playing traditional Japanese games such as kendama, daruma otoshi, and bouzu mekuri together with their children. Seeing both kids and adults fully engaged and laughing together is truly heartwarming.

Yesterday, we were happy to welcome many guests from Los Angeles and New York to AriHana Kyoto.
A 3-year-old boy especially loved playing with a traditional paper balloon (origami toy) made by his father and enjoyed it with a big smile. He was also very enthusiastic about our Japanese fan (uchiwa) craft activity, creating a wonderful piece with his own drawings.

Another group visiting as two families enjoyed a hands-on origami experience, followed by traditional Japanese games such as kendama and daruma otoshi. Everyone joined in, and the space was filled with laughter and excitement.

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming two wonderful families from New York to AriHana Kyoto, an indoor playground near Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjusangendo. We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful family visiting from Australia to AriHana Kyoto.

Their 6-year-old daughter was especially curious about traditional Japanese toys, eagerly trying out many different games and play activities. Together with her parents, she enjoyed playing kendama, daruma otoshi, fukuwarai, paper sumo, and bouzu mekuri, filling the space with laughter and smiles throughout their visit.

They also spent plenty of time enjoying origami, creating so many beautiful pieces that they were happily tired by the end—and very satisfied with their handmade creations.

We were delighted to welcome a very lovely family to AriHana Kyoto the other day.

Yesterday, we welcomed a wonderful family visiting from Germany. Their two-year-old son tried origami for the very first time and, together with his parents, proudly completed a cute origami cat. The family also enjoyed exploring our hiragana wooden blocks. The mother read the characters aloud with ease, creating a very warm and peaceful moment together.

The parents had great fun experimenting with traditional Japanese toys such as kendama and daruma otoshi. They tried several times, laughing as they improved with each attempt. They mentioned that “temple sightseeing in Kyoto can be difficult for young children,” and were delighted to find a place where the whole family could relax and enjoy hands-on Japanese culture.
