Recently at AriHana Kyoto, we welcomed a wonderful family visiting from the United States.
Their son, a big fan of ninjas, tried origami for the first time and successfully folded a ninja design—quite impressive for a beginner! He also loved our traditional paper sumo game and played it over and over with his dad.

At AriHana Kyoto, you’ll find a wide variety of traditional Japanese toys and fun activities for children. Our indoor play space is conveniently located near Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjusangen-do, making it a great spot for Kyoto sightseeing with kids, especially on rainy or cold days.

We had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderfully sweet family from Germany to AriHana Kyoto this week. They stopped by so their little one could enjoy our baby-friendly play area—and it turned into a fun cultural experience for the whole family. Their 5-year-old daughter was completely fascinated by our traditional Japanese toys—she enjoyed origami, fukuwarai, and especially Bōzu Mekuri, which had the whole family laughing together. She was also delighted to make her own kaleidoscope during our craft activity.

Recently, a wonderful family from Sweden visited AriHana Kyoto, our Japanese culture experience space near Kiyomizu Temple and Sanjusangendo. Their 1-year-old boy was full of energy, happily exploring the room and playing with traditional Japanese toys. Yesterday, a lovely woman visiting from Chile joined us at AriHana Kyoto for an origami experience during her Kyoto sightseeing. It was her first time trying origami, but she carefully folded each piece and created many beautiful works of art.
To finish, she tried kirigami (Japanese paper cutting) and made a stunning design, which she turned into a message card and kindly gave to me as a gift. It truly made my day!
