A 20-Month-Old Guest Visited Us on a Rainy Day in Kyoto

Kyoto’s rainy season ended 11 days earlier than usual this year, and the hot summer days have arrived.

During the summer in Kyoto, traveling with small children can sometimes be difficult. On very hot days or when it suddenly rains, families may wonder where they can spend some relaxing time together.

The other day, a family visited AriHana Kyoto with their 1-year-and-8-month-old daughter.

At first, she looked a little nervous in this new place. She stayed close to her parents and quietly looked around. But little by little, she became more comfortable. Soon, she started showing us her smile and even shared her little voice with us.

What stayed in my mind most was how often she brought me picture books.

She would bring a book to me and look at me as if she was saying, “Can you read this with me?” Turning the pages together was such a small moment, but it made me very happy.

A few days later, we received a lovely review from her family.

They shared that their daughter enjoyed playing with many different toys, and that they also had fun trying traditional Japanese games and making origami.

They also wrote that AriHana Kyoto was a comfortable place to spend a rainy afternoon in Kyoto. I was truly happy to hear that.

AriHana Kyoto is not only a place for children to play. I hope it can be a place where parents and children, and the whole family, can enjoy Japanese play together.

That is why it meant so much to me that everyone in the family found their own way to enjoy their time here.

Rainy days in Kyoto can make it difficult to decide where to go, especially with young children. If AriHana Kyoto can become a place where families can take a break and enjoy being together, that would make me very happy.

Thank you again for visiting AriHana Kyoto and for sharing such a kind review.
