Looking for a unique Kyoto cultural experience?
At AriHana Kyoto, our popular Japanese calligraphy experience lets you design your own traditional uchiwa fan and take it home as a special Kyoto souvenir. You can transform your name into kanji or hiragana and enjoy writing it with care and attention. Even if calligraphy feels difficult, you’ll be surprised at how beautifully your characters turn out when you write them slowly and mindfully. It’s a wonderful way to create a one-of-a-kind memory during your trip to Japan.
AriHana Kyoto is a cozy indoor cultural activity space located near Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Sanjūsangen-dō, making it an ideal stop while exploring the Higashiyama area. Our studio is run by a former childcare worker, so families with babies or children can enjoy the activities with confidence. Adults, couples, and solo travelers are also very welcome.
In addition to calligraphy, you can also enjoy a fun origami experience, perfect for creating meaningful travel memories or handmade souvenirs.
No reservation is required, but bookings are available if you prefer to secure your time.
We look forward to welcoming you to AriHana Kyoto for an unforgettable Japanese cultural experience in Kyoto.
